At Géopélie, we believe in keeping production as close to home as possible. Our designs, knitting and fabric finishing are all carried out in France, while our garments are now made in Portugal by carefully selected partner workshops. Our yarns come from Germany, Spain and Italy, as there are now very few spinning mills left in France.
DESIGN
Our garments are designed in our Nantes studio. Our development team in Cholet then takes over, creating prototypes, patterns and size grading, so everything is ready before production begins.
When it comes to our prints, it’s all about inspiration and creativity! We seek out artwork that catches our eye, then make it our own by reworking the colours, proportions, details and more. We explore numerous versions before choosing the designs that will make it into our next collection.
Knitting
Our technical jersey fabrics made from recycled yarns, used for our leggings and sports bras, are knitted in the Lyon region by our trusted partner. For our organic cotton jersey pieces, we work with a textile manufacturer near Amiens. Two French partners bringing our fabrics to life, with the same commitment to quality and durability.
FINISHING
Next comes fabric finishing — the stage where our fabrics and colours really come to life. Our jersey fabrics are dyed in the Lyon region to create our solid colours, or digitally printed by sublimation in the Vosges using the prints designed and developed for each collection. It’s a meticulous process that gives each fabric its final character.
MANUFACTURING
The final step: garment manufacturing! To bring our designs to life, we work with a trusted partner workshop in northern Portugal. A close-knit team, passionate about craftsmanship and meticulous about every detail, with whom we share the same commitment to quality and well-made garments. Each piece is carefully crafted with precision, expertise and a great deal of know-how.
